About the founder
Hi, I'm Martín Cornut. I live in Argentina and I built TinchoInvest because there was one tool no other app had: a mirror.
For years I used broker apps and research tools that only showed me what happens in the market. None showed me what happens in my own head when I decide to buy or sell. That's where I was losing money.
I studied investor behavior and found that 78% of retail losses are behavioral, not technical (Barber & Odean, 2001). Panic selling, not buying out of fear, doubling down out of FOMO. None of that gets detected by the apps you use today.
That's how TinchoInvest was born: an app that combines market data with data about yourself. Emotional journal, decision autopsy, behavioral mirror before trading, decision anniversary emails. It's what I wish I had.

What TinchoInvest is
A web app that centralizes global market data (stocks, ETFs, crypto, bonds, forex, commodities) and pairs it with:
- Automatic technical analysis with plain-language observations
- News per asset
- Tools to compare, discover, filter and simulate
- Behavioral tools: emotional journal, decision autopsy, mirror, AI advisor
- Extensive educational content for beginners

- Not a broker.You can't buy or sell here. We don't handle your money.
- Not financial advice. What you see are data and automatic analysis for informational and educational purposes. Investment decisions are yours.
- Not a crystal ball. Technical signals are tools, not predictions. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
- No fine print. Free, no ads, no data selling.
Data sources
- Stocks, ETFs, indices, bonds, commodities: Yahoo Finance (free, no API key)
- Cryptocurrencies: CoinGecko (free tier)
- Crypto Fear & Greed Index: alternative.me
- Argentina dollar quotes: dolarapi.com
- News: Yahoo Finance Search
Prices are cached between 30 seconds and 10 minutes depending on the case, both to avoid overwhelming free APIs and to keep the app fast for you.
Privacy and data
- Without login: everything is stored in your browser (localStorage). Nothing leaves your device.
- With login: watchlist, alerts, portfolio, journal entries and decisions are stored in Supabase (encrypted database), accessible only to you via Row Level Security.
- No tracking cookies. No data selling. Only Vercel Analytics for basic traffic (anonymous, aggregated).
- Server-side price alerts run every 5 minutes in an isolated Edge Function.

Philosophy
We believe that the best investment anyone new can make is educating themselves before putting real money at risk. And more: educating themselves about their own behavior, not just about the market.
That's why the app prioritizes:
- Plain language over financial jargon
- Context over isolated numbers
- Behavioral awareness alongside technical analysis
- Honest disclaimers about what tools can and can't do
- Focus on long-term thinking over speculation
